The Church is formed around animistic gnostic beliefs.
God, for the Animist, is not a person, but, as for the Hindu, God is the Energy, the Force, the Power, the Universal Mind, the Absolute, the Unknown, the Divine Being.
God is no "he" but an "it"...not somebody, but something... something beautiful and powerful, able to do wonderful things for you.
Animism infuses the sacred into the real life, and offers people a way to cope with one's everyday needs and problems: Healing of an illness, to be successful in a business, or in love, or to find a job, or to restore a soured relationship, to find a mate, to gain guidance for the future.
Pantheism is the first logical consequence of Animism:
All the world is divine: A mountain is God, a rock, an animal... you are God!... though you can't make stars not even atoms, but you are God!... a planet, and even a tree is God!
There is no need to talk of metaphysics or impute non-empirical 'beliefs' in discussing animism.
What is required is an openness to consider that humans are neither separate from the world nor distinct from other kinds of being in most significant ways.
The term "animism" has been applied to many different philosophical systems. It is used to describe Aristotle's view of the relation of soul and body.
Religion
Religion is a word for the ideas (beliefs) about the basic structure of the world that people cannot see or know with our other senses, or that scientists cannot study with machines.
Freedom of Religion
Freedom of religion is a guarantee by a government for freedom of belief for individuals and freedom of worship for individuals and groups.
It is generally recognised to also include the freedom not to follow any religion.
Freedom of religion is considered by many in many nations and people to be a Fundamental Human Right.
Religious Experiences
A religious experiences is the structured way in which a believer enters into a relationship with, or gains an awareness of, the sacred within the context of a particular religious tradition.
Religious Ecstasy
Religious ecstasy is an altered state of consciousness characterised by greatly reduced external awareness and expanded interior mental and spiritual awareness which is frequently accompanied by visions and emotional/intuitive (and sometimes physical) euphoria.
Mystical Experiences
Mystical experiences are in many ways the opposite of numinous experiences. In the mystical experience, all 'otherness' disappear and the believer becomes one with the transcendent.
The believer discovers that he or she is not distinct from the cosmos, the deity or the other reality, but one with it.
